What We Collect

Kolo Team LLC. is the sole owner of the data collected on this site and inside of the product Approved. This data is never sold to third parties. The information collected is only that which is critical to the functionality of the application.

No personally identifiable data is stored by Approved, such as emails, names, or personal information. All data is stored as anonymous IDs or IDs that can identify a person only with a valid Slack API token with the correct scopes.

The only exception to this rule is with our billing (provided by Paddle), in which the email address of the subscriber is stored in transaction history.

The data collected includes:

  • Slack IDs for your enterprise, team, and users.
  • Slack tokens for the bot user Approved, encrypted when at rest.
  • Data related to the approval requests, including statuses, details, Slack IDs for the requester and approvers, comments left by approvers.
  • The settings for each approval request, including reminder times.
  • Slack IDs for discussion channels created by Approved at the user's request.
  • Timestamps, links, and channel IDs for messages sent by Approved.
  • Links to files attached to approval requests. Note that the scopes for Approved only allows access to the links to these files, but does not allow for Approved to physically read the files.
  • The names of approver groups and the Slack IDs of users in those groups.

What We Use This Data For

Any of the data we collect may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To provide the core functionality of Approved.
  • Personalize your experience with the application.
  • Improve our product, website, or service.
  • To improve our customer service experience.
  • To communicate with the user who purchases a plan for Approved.

Your data will never be sold, rented, or shared with a third party without your clear consent, other than to deliver the core functionality of the application.

This Agreement permits Customer to purchase subscriptions to online software-as-a-service products and other services from Intercom pursuant to any Intercom ordering documents, online registration, order descriptions or order confirmations referencing this Agreement ("Order Form(s)") and sets forth the basic terms and conditions under which those products and services will be delivered. This Agreement will govern Customer's initial purchase on the Effective Date as well as any future purchases made by Customer that reference this Agreement.

In addition, all data related to a team or user can and will be deleted within 30 days upon receiving such a request. Please send such requests to team@kolo.team.

What About Cookies?

Yes, we do use them. Cookies are small pieces of data saved in your browser that allow sites and services to have more context around your sessions. Often used to save things such as session IDs, tokens, and often, for the use of collecting data on how you interact with a site.

We use cookies strictly to store your session data to keep you logged in and to provide anonymous data on how our site is used, for the improvement of our site, product, and service.

By using our site, you agree to the cookies set. However, most browsers have settings that allow you to decline the use of cookies on a single site or all sites. You may choose to do so, but please note that this may create usability issues on our website, such as keeping you logged in to your dashboard.

Data Security

We take precautions to protect your data from unauthorized access, both online and offline. Some of those precautions are the use of the HTTPS protocol, data encryption (i.e. with API tokens), and anonymizing data, and other security best practices.

Note that our billing is provided by Paddle, and no credit card numbers are ever shared directly with Kolo Team LLC or with Approved. All data during the checkout and billing process is protected with encryption by Paddle.

Additionally, developers are only provided access to stored data when this is needed to do a certain job, such as providing customer service or assisting with billing.

However, be aware that there is never a way to make sure that data is 100% safe and secure – such is the nature of transmitting data over the Internet. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information. By taking precautions mentioned above – minimizing the data we collect and stripping it of PII, encrypting it, and using security best practices – the goal is to minimize any risk of data breach and any effects that such a breach could cause.

Our Privacy Policy is subject to change from time to time, as the product matures. All changes will be updated here, on this page.
